We are back from "Simple Living!" (18 days in the woods / off-grid for our missions training). It was a great learning experience in many ways. We were stretched in more ways than one. We learned a couple of things about ourselves that God seemingly wanted us to learn as well as some things about the realities of living in an isolated location and a tiny tiny taste of what that would be like. Super grateful for all of these things! Our kids LOVED it out there, so that was super cool! Haha Brennan did not want to leave.
Below is the house structure /size that we lived in.
While in simple living, we had many classes to help give us skills in areas needed on the field. We took a butchering class with a pig and chickens, a motorcycle safety class, small engines and many similar classes. We also had many team building classes to help us in our interpersonal skills. It was encouraging to see growth in our walks with the Lord in this area as well as identifying attitudes of our hearts that God was putting His finger on. We are so grateful for our friends and the team God put us with in order to stretch us to be better prepared for cross cultural ministry.
