Ministry: About Us

Goal

To plant a self-sustaining, indigenous church amongst an unreached people group in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. Throughout the process, we will learn their language and culture, translate the Bible into their language, and disciple the tribal believers until they have a mature understanding of Christ's work on the cross. Our desire is to leave behind a church that can stand and thrive on its own with the Word of God in their heart language.

Why

We believe that God desires all ethnic groups to hear His message of salvation from beginning to end. This theme runs throughout all of Scripture: He will be glorified among all people. Yet currently, there are millions presently beyond the reach of the Gospel message. Of the 6,500 people groups in the world, 2500 have no church, and there is no work being done to establish a church. We hope to live among one of these peoples to establish a thriving church and translate the word of God into their heart language. In Papua New Guinea, there are over 850 languages, and a majority of them have yet to receive the Bible in their own language. This is where we feel the Lord is leading us to serve Him.

Methodology

Work in the Culture and Language of the People

The culture, language and geographic location of these people groups have isolated them from the Gospel. We must become fluent in their language and understand their culture in order to clearly present the Gospel, translate the Bible, and effectively plant a church.

Present Foundational Bible Teaching

Unreached people groups do not know the God of the Bible, so we teach the Bible from beginning to end. Chronological Bible teaching presents a foundation for understanding Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Bible is one story, you wouldn’t start reading a novel from the middle, so why would we with God’s story?

Establish A Maturing Church

Following the pattern in Acts, we seek to establish a self-sustaining indigenous mature church. One that can stand and thrive on its own, with the Word of God in their heart language, having the ability to rightly divide the scriptures. We desire to see a body of believers that are growing in their understanding of Christ work on the cross and is therefore actively full-filling its God-given role in its own unique context in the world.

Training

2015-2022

Spencer and Kayla went to Ethnos360 (formerly New Tribes) Bible Institute. Before, during, and after we were actively involved in our local body of believers and served in various ways within the Lord's leading. We have consistently been engaged in some form of discipleship whether that be youth ministry or one on one relationships as well as Bible studies. In August of 2020 we went to the missions training institute with Ethnos360 and completed this in 2022. Here we learned various skills within learning a language and culture. Yet, as much as we clearly see the value in this training, we remain confident that our main and consistent source of help is from the Lord.
